For the first time, the Kockelscheuer ice rink is open all year round, including during the summer holidays. ULP did not hesitate and organised its first summer camp for members of the national team and 2 Sportlycée students, members of the CH-PL (JA4).

The programme was carefully prepared by our General Secretary, Juliana Berg, who, in collaboration with external service providers, succeeded in putting together an all-round development camp for our athletes.

This camp represented an exceptional opportunity for personal and professional development for all participants.

Sona, our national coach, coordinated the camp. Catherine Purdie, a Canadian coach currently at Kunstschaatsclub Pirouette Leuven, joined us and helped Sona and all participants improve their performance. We're sure that her experience and knowledge were invaluable for our next season.

At the same time, as a "Centre de Formation" within the meaning of the agreement with Sportlycée, we have invited two new students at Sportlycée. After passing the physical tests organised by Sportlycée were both admitted to the Lycée. The Sportlycée students will be part of our "Centre de Formation" and will participate to a limited extent in ULP's activities, as provided for in the agreement. During the camp, they took part in all the group sessions.

This camp has  aimed to develop not the skating skills of our athletes but also the mental and emotional aspects of the sport. Sessions on mental preparation, yoga session and nutrition were included to ensure comprehensive training. Also, a good preparation of the athletes requires examination and diagnosis by physiotherapists who, after the first check during the physical preparation session, took care of the athletes individually.

This camp was designed to help to improve the technical, artistic, and physical skills of our athletes on the ice. We firmly believe in the value of team spirit, even in a sport as individual as figure skating and offered a platform to build a supportive community, learn from each other, and develop close relationships with your fellow skaters and coaches.

We promote sports values such as respect, integrity, and perseverance and we hope that our athletes left this camp not only as better skaters but also as better individuals.
